Please PRAY for my friend and running buddy

Hello Blogland friends,

Yesterday evening a friend and running partner of mine, Stephanie, was struck by a minivan when she was walking across North High Street in Dublin, Ohio after leaving a restaurant where she and another friend of ours had met for dinner. She was life-flighted to The Ohio State University Medical Center with severe head trauma and she was not breathing on her own.

As of this afternoon, her brother said her brain activity had stopped. As you can imagine, her prognosis is not good.

I am asking that you please keep Stephanie, her family, and her friends in your prayers and thoughts.

Although I have not been able to see her at the hospital, after running with her for miles and seeing her at her strongest, it is really hard to think of the way she is now. My heart is aching for her and her family.

As most of you know and have experienced, when you run with someone and train with them on a regular basis, they too become part of your running family. It’s what unites us as runners and keeps us supporting each other through the good runs, the bad runs, and the completely miserable runs. Not only that, we support one another in “real” life too, and right now, Stephanie really needs to know that we are thinking of her, hoping for her, fighting for her, and praying for a miracle to pull her through this.

Thank you for your prayers,
