Am I Goofy or What? Week #11 Training Recap

This recap is brought to you by…
Goofy Himself!

I had a great week running-wise! I am so excited about the Goofy now. I needed a good, long run to get my pumped and ready to go and yesterday I ran 16 miles with Deb, my friend and fellow Lucky 13. Deb’s awesome and helped me figure out my Operation Goofy Race-Day Strategy. I am going to be running a mile and then walking a mile (or some variation of that) for at least the duration of the full marathon. It worked! I had a fabulous run on Saturday and felt like I could have kept going, although it would have been tough. Today I can walk (mostly) and feel ready to run again already – but, I will rest until tomorrow per my schedule.

  2. Sara, I am so excited for your renewed enthusiasm now that you have ‘game’ strategy firmly in place. Wonderful! That pic of your Mom with Goofy is so cute. Gosh, you do resemble your pretty Mama.
Hope you are having a good Monday, Sara.

Your eyes light up your face the same way your mom’s lit up hers.

Congrats on the awesome 16! Did I read that you’re doing 18 next?

  6. Yes, Christina! I will do an 18 and 20 miler before Disney. I don’t plan on going higher than 20! Then, I will need to start tapering! Any other advice? You do know your long distances for sure!!

  7. Thank you all for your kind words, encouragement and support!
