ONE COZY SATURDAY!

Me and my puppies – Grace & Sadie! |
I had a great training week, although winter has descended way too early in Central Ohio! 18 miles and strength training has not happened in I-don’t-know-how-long. It felt good to get some abs work in (That you Jillian Michaels – I love her!) and feel the burn that I didn’t realize I missed so much. My long was on Saturday with the MIT gang, and it was the BEST. RUN. OF. THE. SEASON. even though it couldn’t have been more than 40 degrees when we started. Love these runs! I think I forgot I was running because I had Nita and Kelley of the Lucky 13’s to keep me company. We talked about everything from shoes to parents to kids to loss to hydration to races to long runs to husbands and on and on. We saw deer, chipmunks, squirrels, geese (not, my sister, either), countless other runners and cyclists, plus Nita almost got hit in the head by some giant nut that fell from a tall tree. SO, we had some adventure too! Nita and Kelley will be running their first half on October 16 – The Columbus Marathon in just two weeks! – And I couldn’t be more excited! I might just join these ladies for the journey, I had that much fun!
I know that the 45 minute treadmill runs (which take forever to go not very far) are really helping because I can feel my endurance building back up after what I have lost. I feel like I am plodding during those timed runs, but on Saturday, I could really feel the payoff. The time flew by! Sunday’s run didn’t go so well, I was tired and my legs were heavy. The Goofy is going to be a major challenge and I am terrified! I came home near tears on Sunday and when my husband asked me how it went, I sputtered, “Terrible! I don’t know how I am going to run Goofy.” He said, “You just will.” I will, right?!
Needless to say, there was also a lot of quality downtime this weekend with the cold and rain:

Great job on the training, Sara! And your puppies are precious. 🙂
Your dogs look so cute and sweet!
Would it make more sense to move your Sunday run to Friday? Cause you run the full after the half, so that seems like it would be closer to the race and might make you less crazy. Also, Jillian Michaels is the devil lady and I think I hate her. No really, I have an unnatural hatred of JM and want to destroy her with my fiery glare.
Cute doggie pics! 🙂 How did you get your DM graph to show up so well and organized on here? 🙂 You’re gonna kick some booty @Columbus Marathon!
AMAZING week dear friend!!! love that you just had an awesome run! plus those pups…TOO CUTE!!! hope this week goes just as well for you 🙂
Sounds like you are doing great, to me. Love the pics, too.
