And just when I needed it the most

After my last post, my mom sent me a really touching and inspiring email, and I wanted to share it with you.  It just goes to prove, we all have someone in our life that we look up to and admire – and we never know when we are that person to someone else.

Hello my dear daughter,

I wanted to let you know that I read your blog.  My heart is with you and I know that you will find your way back to running, I believe that you have that inner strength.  A lot as happened during this training cycle and  it has been out of your control.  You gave 110% and I think some situations just wore you down .  Sometimes stress just shuts us down, we have to re-energize and start again and maybe that is where you are.

Sara, you are a beautiful person and such an inspiration to others and I want you to believe in yourself.  It’s because of you that I am where I am with my running.  You were there to give me the words of encouragement, share your experience so that I had a better understanding of what was going to happen. To share my first race with you is beyond words.  I gave you the picture so that you would never forget what I accomplished and I did it for you and Mollie.  And it is because of you that your sister is running.  She saw that you and I were doing it and she received words of encouragement from her trainer that she could do it.  And I am sure that there are many other people out there that you have touched.  We, I, need you on the running circuit again.  I don’t have to remind you of everything that you have accomplished but just a reminder of how proud I am of you!

Hold your head high, smile, you are worthy and you are the best!  Remember that GOD loves you and so do we!

Love always,    ~Mom

Who inspires or motivates you to keep running?

Have you told that person lately how much they mean to you?
