You still have time to get some races in before the start of 2012. Don’t forget about the Mt. Vernon Running Buddies Diaper Dash on Christmas Eve at 9:00 a.m. in Mt. Vernon. This free event is designed for runners and walkers of all ages. See the Facebook Page for more information.
Second Sole of Toledo is hosting the 4.5 mile December Dashon Thursday, December 29. Registration begins at 6:00 p.m. at Second Sole in Levis Commons and the race begins at 7:00 p.m. Come dressed in bright colors for this nighttime race! Race day registration is only $5 for non running-club members. Prizes – including running skirts for the ladies and Brooks Playing Cards – will be awarded to the top male and female finishers.
Looking to get your new year off to a halfway decent start? Check out the Second Annual Liberty Half Marathon in West Liberty. The race begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. and runners will primarily follow County Road 5 to Zanesfield, then County Road 10 to East Liberty. Runners will challenge Bristol Ridge at Mile 10 and then race two miles downhill to the finish. This is not an officially certified course yet, but it is a wonderful way to start the New Year! Awards to the top finishers and medals. Cost is $15 in advance through the Hilliker YMCA.
