Miracle Worker? Fat Blaster? Magic Formula for Weight Loss?

I’ve been training with Rebecca for the last three weeks and in total I have lost 6.4 pounds; 1.25″ off my arms, 2.5″ off my chest and 1″ off my waist.  I think most people would agree with me when I say, those are pretty impressive results and a great accomplishment!

But, I’ll be the first one to tell you, Rebecca doesn’t work magic.  And there are no gimmicks, no hidden sacrifices, no pills, and no “get-fit-quick” schemes.

As a matter of fact, I have worked just as hard with Rebecca as I have with previous trainers and on my own.  I haven’t spent countless hours in the gym and I haven’t been starving myself.  The day-to-day routine of my life has changed very little.

What then, you ask, is the secret?  Why is it working now when it didn’t work before?

There is no secret.  And because now I have the tools.

Rebecca’s training is founded on the principle that a strong mind leads to a strong body.  And through her positive coaching and encouragement, I have begun to change my mind.  Take, for example, the push-up.  As the pinnacle example of upper body strength, I have always wanted to be successful at knocking out the push-ups.  I want to beat the boys and “drop and give me 20” on a moment’s notice, but I can’t couldn’t.  Since training with Rebecca, my push-ups have greatly improved; I’m even off my knees!  She envisions my success and teaches me to do the same – the muscles naturally get stronger the more we work on them.  Where as before I was struggling to bend my elbows slightly, they are now at nearly 90 degrees and I can lower my body halfway to the ground.

While my mind is doing a lot to strengthen my body, I also need proper nutrition to fuel that strength.  Rebecca’s knowledge of nutrition, metabolism, and food has been invaluable to me in terms of getting my eating habits healthy.  Since following Rebecca’s meal plans (complete with a little fun worked in every now and then), I have completely stopped referring to myself as a “dieter.”  I’m not following a diet.  Rebecca is teaching me to develop a lifestyle of healthy and satisfying eating that will become a lifelong habit. No processed foods, fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats and fish, low sugar, low sodium, low fat, and whole-grains.  And I wouldn’t have it any other way.  Once your body adapts to utilizing the nutrition it is meant to have, you won’t either.  My energy level has increased.  I’m happier.  I sleep less and feel more rested.  I’ve eliminated random aches, pains, and soreness from my body.  I eat less and feel more satisfied.  Loosing weight, fat, and inches follows naturally – all I had to do was eat the right things and because of Rebecca, now I know what those things are.

My running has even improved!  Since training with Rebecca, I have been working on treadmill sprints and interval training.  I have also been varying my cardio workouts by adding in some spinning and arc training.  My body seemed to of settled into a routine of running the same pace and same distance all the time.  Interval and sprint training has really helped to jump start my body back into burning fat.  I even made a PR (still excited!) last week at the Flying Feather Four Miler on Thanksgiving Day.  My total (and now official!) time was 47:35 – that’s an 11:54 minute per mile pace!  Under 12 minutes.  I have NEVER run that fast in my life!

So while Rebecca doesn’t work magic and won’t give you a quick fix that will melt fat away overnight, she will give you the tools you need to make positive permanent changes in your lifestyle and habits that will undoubtedly lead to your success.

Her upbeat support of your ability to achieve the results you are seeking will inspire you to keep reaching for your goals – because you will succeed and once you do, you will never want to go back.  Just look at me – 6 lbs in 3 weeks – I can’t wait to see where we will go next.
