Special shubeez to show support for Boston, ALL proceeds donated to The One Fund Boston

We all want to do something in light of the recent tragedy at the Boston Marathon. The effects and heartbreak are far-reaching – beyond runners and athletes, beyond us – many lives have been torn to shreds since the events that took place at the Finish Line on Monday. Many of us are running in solidarity one week later and many of us are donating what we can, when we can to help in whatever way we can. Now there is a Special shubeez to show support for Boston!

This goes beyond running, as author Mark Mathews stated on his blog.

“The real tragedy of the event is those who have suffered permanent impairments from the bombing, and especially those who lost their life. Not runners. If only we could always keep that image of the 8 year old boy with the infectious smile and the sign reading “Stop hurting people. Peace.” The reason we run sometimes is to get to our loved ones at the finish. To see our family with new eyes. This is what the Bombing was about, families and lives torn apart. That is felt by all of us.”

-Mark Matthews

I, like many of you reading this blog, are part of the running community and while this isn’t exclusively about running, we do want to show our support as runners, for runners. Runners are strong, united, compassionate individuals and when tragedy strikes, we get out and run – to show support, to show love and to face and ultimately defeat the anger or grief that sometimes surges through our very souls.

Shubeez is offering a special shubeez shoe tag in support of the victims in Boston and beyond.

Runner or not, we all wear shoes at some point so wear these shubeez every time you lace up in honor of the city, participants, bystanders, heroes and victims of this day and may we always be reminded that you cannot break the will of a runner or the spirit of a community. This is what it means to be Boston strong.

100% percent of the proceeds will be donated to The One Fund Boston, an organization founded to help those most affected by the tragedy.

Not only will all profits from the sales of this design be donated back to The One Fund, but as a shubeez affiliate, I have personally committed to the victims, to my friends at shubeez and to my readers to donate all of my earnings from ANY shubeez sale as an affiliate to The One Fund Boston for the remainder of 2013. So, now more than ever, if you purchase shubeez please select WORDS TO RUN BY from the drop down Partnership menu (don’t need to on the Boston sale because it is all being donated) upon checkout to ensure a donation will be made.

Until the next mile marker,

#BostonStrongColumbus

We’ve been horrified, saddened and outraged by the recent events at the Boston Marathon. We’ve posted about it, shared about it, cried with one another about it and celebrated with those who were there because running in Boston is quite the achievement no matter how you look at it. And now, more than ever, it is time for us not only as individuals, but as a running community, to be strong. My fellow FitFluential Ambassador, Pavement Runner has taken the initiative to organize a global event one week after the Boston bombings: #BostonStrong<city>. If you are in Central Ohio, please join us for #BostonStrongColumbus.

I want us to run…together.

I’m organizing a global event: #BostonStrong<city>

A run for us to unite and show our strength.
A run for those that were unable to finish.
A run for those that may never run again.
A run for us to try and make sense of the tragedy that has forever changed something we love.
