The holidays are in full swing in our state and there is definitely no lack of races to celebrate the season. Check out what is happening in Mt. Adams and Mt. Vernon over the next two weeks.

The Egg Nog Jog is a 5K taking place in Mt. Adams for the 20th annual holiday tradition on December 17. This scenic and challenging course begins at Jerome and St. Gregory and winds through Mt. Adams and Eden Park offering spectacular views of downtown Cincinnati and the Ohio River. Registration begins at 8:15 AM. And the race begins at 10:00 a.m. Sharp! You can choose to either Run or Walk. If you think that you may run any part of the course, please sign up as a runner. The fees are $15 pre-registration, $17 late Registration and $20 Race-day. You can also register online through Thursday, December 15 at getmeregistered.com. The course is chip-timed and prizes are awarded to the top Male and Female runners and walkers. After the race, join the holiday celebration at Longworths for the Awards Ceremony, Bruegger’s Bagels, Food, Drink, fun and of course, Egg Nog! You can find more information on the Mt. Looking ahead to December 24 – what better way to spend Christmas Eve morning than running? Join the Mt. Vernon Running Buddies for their Inaugural Diaper Dash 5K taking place at 9:00 a.m. at the Mount Vernon Nazarene University Chapel in Mt. Vernon. This race is free and designed for runners and walkers of all ages. The event will benefit Care Net Pregnancy Services of Knox County. Care Net is a non-profit ministry whose purpose is to empower women and men facing unplanned pregnancies to make healthy, life-affirming decisions. While there is no fee to run, participants are strongly encouraged to either donate a package of diapers or make a monetary contribution to Care Net. Mt. Vernon is located just about an hour Northeast of Columbus. Want more information?
