Things

Snow and ice has returned to central Ohio. I woke up to headlines such as “Conditions deteriorate quickly,” “Transition to Snow and Ice coming early, lots of traffic headaches,” “There were no Snow Emergencies to start the day, now there are several,” “Port Columbus International Airport – Flight Delays, “and “Gusty winds of 30-40 Mph limiting visibility and causing blowing and drifting.” It’s true, folks, we’re being blanketed by a climatological catastrophe:

Unless, of course, you live here and it looks like this all winter long (where exactly is the blizzard in this view from my office?):
Yes, ladies and gentleman, it’s back to hibernating (unless you have to be at work):
Thank goodness I got a terrific 2 mile run in last night (with the Lucky 13’s) before the storm hit. I have been really bummed out this week, and last night, I was reminded that running really does make everything better. I felt refreshed, relieved, rejuvenated, and re-energized. I am looking forward to 14 miles with MIT on Saturday. It will be the farthest I have run at one time to date.

I’ve run about 96 miles so far this year – give or take (sometimes I forget to log the miles in print). Deb, one of my MIT Lucky 13 Runners, – on the other hand – ran her 100th mile of 2011 with us last night! How’s that for inspiration? Check out Deb’s blog HERE and congratulate her on her awesome accomplishment! Way to go, friend!
Today is the last day to enter my CSN $35 Giftcard Giveaway. Enter now if you haven’t already for your chance to win! I’ll announce the winner tomorrow after my run.
Enter my new giveaway for the MY RUN movie premier tickets HERE. Check out the movie trailer HERE. Even if you don’t win a pair of tickets, I hope you all can go to the premier on March 31 at a theater near you! Help me spread the word about this inspirational film, please.
Don’t forget about Running to Health’s Home Base Raffle. Check out her exciting prizes and enter for your chance to win HERE.
Check out one of my favorite bloggers, The Hungry Runner Girl. Since I stalk her blog regularly because she is funny, inspirational, informative, and fun, we had dinner in her honor last night, but she doesn’t know it yet. Baked potato with Mac&Cheese and lots of broccoli. It was delicious. I think it may be 14-mile running fuel. I might even have this again for lunch today (or dinner, or everyday from now on):
There is a potato in there somewhere:
The Hungry Runner Girl has a fantastic blog which is why I nominated her for the Women’s Health Blog Contest. You should too. In fact, while you’re at it you should go HERE and vote for my blog too! You can vote for as many blogs as you want – why not vote for both of us? It will only take you a second per blog! Thanks!!
I think that’s enough things for now!
Happy Running,
