And way too much of it. It’s a runners nightmare. Or, at least it’s this runner’s nightmare.
It started Monday night with howling winds and pelting rain, turned freezing rain and ice. The dogs were terrified:
Sadie says, “WHAT?!?!?” |
Grace kept staring out the window. She wouldn’t even look at me. |
I woke up this morning to a winter wonderland for sure. The world was an ice cube.

The chair had a layer of ice on it. |

So did the grill. |
So did my car. I don’t have enough fingers and toes to count how many times I almost fell going out to it. Plus, the two times I actually did fall. I needed an ice pick to get through the ice.
The front walk was the worst:

Watch your step, for sure…. |
And this was after TWO rounds of salt! |
The dogs decided to hibernate (I don’t blame them):

No, I didn’t put the stuffed puppy there |
The husband and I have been off work for two days:
Not that we’re driving each other crazy at all (love you, honey) |

Ignore my gym hot tub hair and whiter than white face, please. |
At least I made it to the gym? At least I got on the treadmill? For a mile and a good strength workout after that. And a soak in the hot tub (as evidenced by my yet to be washed hair).
If this Great Ice Storm of 2011 has taught me anything, it’s that I despise the treadmill. I would so much rather run outside!
Please hurry, Springtime! I don’t know how much longer I can hold on……….
Guess no one is grilling out tonight! Come on spring!
be careful now. though happy you made it to the gym =) keep those furbabies warm =)
I know!! This weather SUCKS – My world was an ice encrusted mess too – BAH. Thus my own treadmill run… I’ve done so much tread running lately that I’m actually (gasp) getting used to it. It does make me run faster because I can’t wait to get off the f’in thing.
Dreadmill this week for me too. hate it!
Dude, I fall down ALL the time. Key is to NEVER put your hands in your pockets…you will fall down immediately.
You are right…at least you made it there!!! Ugh sorry about this nasty weather!!!
