Food of the Week
Since I gave up milk and greatly reduced my dairy intake, I have been worried since Weight Watchers does recommend you get dairy servings in. While I don’t eat dairy nearly as much as I used to (and not everyday), I really don’t miss it, but I do enjoy goat cheese from time to time as a treat. I have been eating Chevrai Wild Blueberry Vanilla goat cheese, which tastes exactly like blueberry cheesecake. I have been spreading it on gluten free crackers and serving it with a side of fresh blueberries for a mid-morning snack and it is delicious.
Activity of the Week
I’ve really been battling the heat and humidity, which makes it hard to get any runs in. It took me nearly 17 minutes to run a mile on Sunday before 10:00 a.m. Overall, I feel like I am struggling with training for the Quarter Marathon in August, but at least I am getting out there and able to do something. I did get to go canoeing with my husband this weekend, which was a good workout.

Reflections
I am reminded of something my friend Elle over at Eat Run Sail told me (check out her blog by the way!). That is – permanent, healthy weight loss is gained slowly and little by littler compared to fast weight loss, which may go in a hurry, but not stay gone. Elle, I admire you for what you have not only accomplished, but maintained with Weight Watchers and have to remember that slow weight loss is what truly matters!
Until the next mile marker,
Sara, you are doing so well and continue to inspire and motivate me. Thanks for the shout out today.
That cheese DOES sound good. Glad you found something you really like.
Thanks, Elle! It means a lot to that you say I motivate YOU! 😉 Again, I am so thankful we met and can be on this journey together. Hugs to you and The Captain. Hope you are enjoying the summer months. 🙂
Congrats!!! I have been at this 30+ years & ya got to have patience & consistency & do it the right way.. stay away from the quick fix OR food programs that you can’t live with for life!
Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much, Jody! I SO admire you and the things you have accomplished, especially in fitness and in health. Thanks for stopping by and for your words of encouragement – MAKES. MY. DAY to hear it from YOU!
I meant to reply to this earlier but time got away from me!! 🙂 I do read for sure – sometimes I don’t always comment but you should be very proud!!!!! AND thank YOU for your very kind words!
