You may remember, about a year ago, I had the opportunity to review Ryan Robert’s how-to beginner’s guide to running, The Ultimate Beginner’s Running Guide: The Key To Running Inspired. You can read my review HERE.
As you know, my life changed dramatically last summer after suffering from a blood clot in my leg and lung. While lucky to be alive when I finally left the hospital, I was on oxygen, barely able to walk unassisted and convinced I would never run again. As the days and weeks passed by, I slowly began to heal, but I was uncertain and afraid of how to get started running again after nearly eight months of inactivity. It was then that I re-read Running Inspired to find the encouragement I so desperately needed. It wasn’t that I didn’t know how to run; it was I didn’t know where to find the will to start again. I felt like I had lost all faith in myself and this book helped me find it again by teaching me how to become self-confident and overcome my fears. As a running coach, I have heard nearly every reason imaginable as so why an individual can’t run. I am here to tell you with the help of Ryan’s book, you most definitely can. I wish I had copies of this book to hand out to people when they say, “I’m to – heavy, slow, old, out of shape – to run.” You can run and this book will help you find the courage to do so while also providing you with the tools you need to be successful. It’s not easy to begin a running program and this book will help you discover and implement invaluable techniques like what to wear, what to eat, how to train, how to stretch, how to monitor your heart rate, how to treat minor injuries, how to implement proper form and most importantly, how to value yourself as the runner that you are. In this book you will find expert tips on training, improving your performance and staying motivated to reach your goals. Running Inspired is an all-inclusive guidebook for the beginning runner and whether your personal goals are to lose weight, to start exercising, to tone up, to take on a new challenge or – as in my case – to start over again, it is the only resource you need to get off the couch and get moving.
I am very excited to tell you that as of March 02, Ryan’s book has been officially published. You can find it right now on Amazon for $9.56.
I am also excited and thrilled to announce that Ryan asked me to write a testimonial for the back cover of his book!
Thank you Ryan for this awesome opportunity. I am truly grateful.

Hey lady! That is totally cool that you got to review the book and it appeared on the cover! You inspire me every day…especially on Monday’s when The Following is on TV…no, but seriously, I only hope to have a blog like yours someday!
Hi Shannon! You made my whole day with your comment – thank you!!! I remember when I started my blog I thought ‘No one will ever read this,’ and now I look back and see how much it has grown.
I am obsessed with The Following. It’s probably not healthy that I get so immersed in it when it is on! 😉
Thank you so much for your support, and I hope to see you soon.
